Time to find your private spot to do some sunbathing, or to relax on the sand dunes under the shade of the trees.

A stone's throw from Aghios Nikolaos is the traditional village of Kritsa, a place to discover a real Cretan village. On the shores of the gulf of Mirabello lies the pretty cosmopolitan town of Aghios Nikolaos famous for its picturesque "bottomless lake". The highlight of the day is cruising through the crystal clear waters of the bay. We pass the islands of Kri Kri, Kolokitha and the site of the sunken city of Olous, before arriving at the island of Spinalonga.

Imbros gorge is 8 km long you'll be rambling through orange groves and picturesque countryside. Vast array of flowers and herbs, clinging to the sheer rock faces, winding ravines and dry riverbeds, is quite spectacular. After crossing the gorge we'll have lunch in the mountain village of Komitades. Then we carry on to the sweet water lake of Kournas.

Find the small village of Fodele, famous as the birthplace of "El Greco" the painter, cool in the shade of its surrounding trees and gurgling stream. Further west lays Chania, Crete's second largest city. This "Little Venice of Crete" still holds a wealth of Italia architecture. Get in touch with the Orient as you browse through the cross-shaped indoor market ideal source for some unusual presents and souvenirs. Finally a visit to Rethymnon will allow you to shop for antiques and knick-knacks in the narrow streets of the old town, gaze up at the turkish minarets, the Venetian port down to the fortress and along the golden sandybeach stretching itno the distance.
